Terms of use

Origin is provided by Avatar8 LLC for personal, lawful translated telephone conversations. By using the service you agree to these terms and Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

Free time and Origin balance

New users receive ten free conversation minutes per Apple app account. This allowance starts when the translated conversation connects; ringing and voice setup do not reduce free time. After that, buy one-time Origin balance top-ups through Apple. Purchased balance never expires. The amount used depends on destination, language and speech processing during calls, including setup. Your balance is shown in the app and updates during calls.

Calls are limited to 30 minutes and available free time or balance, with one active call per account. Calls stop when the allowance is exhausted. Refunds revoke the corresponding purchase credit. Balance is for Origin usage only, with no cash redemption or transfer.

Existing Origin Plus subscriptions continue to renew through Apple at $4.99 per month until canceled and now add $4.99 in balance per renewal. Existing unused minutes convert proportionally at $4.99 per 60 minutes. Canceling does not expire purchased balance. Manage or cancel existing subscriptions in Apple subscription settings. New top-ups are one-time purchases and do not renew. Apple handles payments and refund requests.

Responsible use

You must be 18 or older and use only your own voice or a standard voice. Do not impersonate someone, clone another person’s voice, spam, harass, or place unlawful calls. Obtain any consent required for AI processing and automated translation. The receiving party hears an automated-translation disclosure. Origin is not for emergency calls or critical medical, legal, financial, or safety decisions.

Accuracy and availability

Translation can be delayed or incorrect. Confirm important details directly. Supported phone destinations depend on carrier and service availability; some numbers cannot be reached. Internet access is required and carrier data charges may apply. Voice personalization is optional and depends on provider availability.

We may suspend misuse, address service faults, or change features with appropriate notice. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under applicable consumer law. Contact ops@avatar33.com for assistance.

Recipient voice enrollment

Before conversation starts, recipients hear instructions in the selected language. Saying yes or pressing 1 gives consent to capture 15 seconds of their own speech and send it to ElevenLabs for a temporary voice clone for this call. Pressing 2 selects translated conversation with a standard voice, without a voice enrollment recording. Hanging up declines the call. The sample is held temporarily in memory for processing. Origin requests deletion of the temporary clone when the call ends and retries failed deletions after service restart; providers may retain data according to their policies. No recipient clone is reused for another call. An app user's separately enrolled voice stays associated with their account until deleted.

Voice setup is excluded from welcome conversation time; paid balance reflects call usage including setup. A 15-second telephone sample may not reproduce a voice accurately. If enrollment fails or requires extra verification, the call uses a disclosed standard voice.
